EMCscreen handling and installation method

EMCscreenThe back of the sticker is adhesive, so you can attach it directly to building materials such as walls, ceilings, and floors, fences such as partitions and vinyl curtains, panels such as acrylic sheets, device housings and parts, and cables inside devices.

If placed in a location where electromagnetic interference is expected,It reflects and attenuates electromagnetic waves to around 45 dB (around 99.5%), and because the effects of reflection and resonance are small, it can provide a stable EMC effect.

※Materials such as metal plates and metal films have a shielding performance (reflection attenuation) of 100 dB or more (99.999% or more), but the effects of reflection and resonance can be significant, causing unexpected electromagnetic interference.

EMCscreen installation guidelines

Please take note of the following points when using EMCscreen.

  • ・Surface preparation:It is attached using adhesive on the back, so make sure the surface you are attaching it to is flat.
  • ・cleaning:Remove as much dirt as possible from the surface to which you will be attaching the sticker.
  • ・Cutting:EMCscreen comes in a roll 970mm wide, so please cut it to size.
  • ・Stitching:When joining EMCscreens, overlap them by 5 to 10 mm and make sure there are no gaps at the joints.
  • ・ground:There is no problem if it is not connected to GND. If it is connected to GND, and the EMCscreen receives strong electromagnetic noise, the noise may be transferred to other devices connected to the same GND. If a GND is absolutely necessary, we recommend that you use a separate GND.
  • ・Electromagnetic environment survey:We will actually conduct an electromagnetic environment survey at the site, grasp the noise environment, and propose the appropriate EMCscreen placement.※The investigation cost will be quoted separately.

In-facility EMCElectromagnetic environment survey

Installation method 1: Fence (partition or vinyl curtain)

To prevent electromagnetic interference between devices within the facility and interference with RFID readings, partitions with EMCscreen attached or vinyl curtains are placed between devices and RFID tags to prevent electromagnetic interference.

  • ・Pasting:Please follow the above guidelines.
  • ・Mounting position:The location of the affected device is close to the location of the source of the source.
  • ・Range:The bigger the area of the fence, the smaller the fence.
  • ・Electromagnetic environment survey:If you can't judge the appropriate installation method on your own, our company will actually conduct an electromagnetic environment survey on the site, understand the noise environment, and propose the appropriate placement of the EMC screen.

Installation method ② Electromagnetic interference is expected from adjacent rooms

In order to prevent electromagnetic interference and RFID readings in the building, place the EMC screen on the surface where electromagnetic interference is expected to prevent electromagnetic interference.

  • ・Pasting:Paste according to the above guidelines.
  • ・Mounting position:Electromagnetic interference is expected to be placed on the wall. You don't need to place special cases on the floor or bed.
  • ・Installation Method:In the case of retrofitting, the EMCscreen is attached to the wall and then wallpaper or other materials are applied on top of it. In the case of new construction, it can also be attached to the plasterboard on the inside of the wall.
  • ・Electromagnetic environment survey:If you can't judge the appropriate installation method on your own, our company will actually conduct an electromagnetic environment survey on the site, understand the noise environment, and propose the appropriate placement of the EMC screen.

Installation method ③ Shielding circuit boards from radiation noise generated inside various equipment such as printers

Inside various devices, a wide range of radiated noise is generated from cables, inverters, etc. By placing an EMCscreen at the source of the radiated noise, electromagnetic interference can be prevented.

  • ・Pasting:Paste according to the above guidelines.
  • ・Construction of shielded enclosure for circuit boards:An acrylic or other housing is created to cover the circuit board where electromagnetic interference is anticipated, and an EMCscreen is attached to the housing.
  • ・Cable installation:Stick it on so that it wraps around the internal cables.
  • ・Electromagnetic environment survey:If you are unable to implement appropriate noise countermeasures in-house, we will conduct an on-site electromagnetic environment survey to grasp the noise environment and provide appropriate EMC screen placement, power supply filters, ferrite cores, etc. to resolve the issue.※The investigation cost will be quoted separately.

Installation method ④ Countermeasures against server terrorism in server rooms and infrastructure facilities

In order to protect various electronic devices such as data center servers, daily life infrastructure (electricity, gas, water, etc.), and communication infrastructure, installing special EMC screens (with shielding performance of approximately 100 dB) on the walls, ceilings, and floors of rooms can reduce the electric field strength by a factor of 10,000 to 100,000, and can attenuate an electric field strength of 50 kV/m (DC several 10 MHz) to less than 10 V/m.

  • ・Pasting:Follow the guidelines above and paste onto walls, ceilings and floors.
  • ・illumination:The lighting will be installed in the usual way by running wiring inside the room.
  • ・air conditioning:If using a duct, install a duct with shielding measures.
  • ・door:Our magnetic shielded doors allow for one-touch entry and exit.
  • ・wiring:Necessary cables such as DC power, LAN cables, and USB cables are routed through a connector panel that has been electromagnetically shielded.
  • ・Construction:We will provide construction design proposals, shielding materials (EMC screens and gaskets), a set of magnetic shield doors, connector panels for connecting various connectors, etc. *We will be present during construction, but please arrange for interior construction work in-house.
