EMCscreen has moderate shielding performance (43-48dB) in the 1MHz to 6GHz band, making it effective in EMC countermeasures. By placing it on walls, ceilings, and floors as a shielding material for RF communication waves, particularly Wi-Fi, it prevents errors caused by external noise and reduces the effects of reflections and resonance on internal equipment.

It is a thin, lightweight (0.18mm thick, 155g/㎡) adhesive sheet material that can be easily used by simply sticking it not only to walls, floors, and ceilings, but also to vinyl curtains, devices, parts, cords, etc.

※High reflectivity of high frequency electromagnetic waves may have a large effect on other devices.

  • ・Diffusion of reflected electromagnetic waves:Materials with high reflectivity scatter electromagnetic waves over a wide area, and surrounding equipment may be affected by the reflected electromagnetic waves.

Example: Malfunction verification test of electromagnetic wave protective clothing (CES protector) for capsule endoscopes

  • In developing electromagnetic wave protective clothing for capsule endoscopes, protective clothing was created using MGnet 2-layer (approximately 40 dB) and MGnet 4-layer (approximately 60 dB) materials, and the capsule endoscope antenna was installed in seven locations on various parts of a human dummy. The capsule endoscope was embedded in the abdomen, and the person wearing each protective clothing was irradiated with electromagnetic waves in the frequency band of the telemeter, and the distance at which an error occurred was measured by moving the antenna closer.
  • ・MGnet 2-layer (approx. 40 dB):There was no variation in the distance at which errors occurred depending on the position of the seven antennas. The distance at which errors occurred was reduced almost uniformly.
  • ・MGnet 4 layers (approx. 60 dB):The distance at which errors occurred varied depending on the positions of the seven antennas, and errors occurred even from far away depending on the antenna position.

Electromagnetic wave countermeasures (EMI countermeasures)

Although EMCscreen is a thin and flexible fabric, it has a shielding performance of about 30dB to 50dB in the range of 100kHz to 6GHz. If the shielding performance is too high (80dB or more), the effects of reflection and resonance will become greater.This product is suitable for EMC countermeasures as it has moderate shielding performance that reduces the effects of reflection and resonance.

High durability and fire resistance

EMCscreen has a tensile strength of approximately 300-450 N/5cm, and is also highly resistant to heat and corrosion. It is also heat resistant (class 1 fireproof) and is used in soundproofing walls for space rockets.

Highly versatile

It is thin, lightweight, and has an adhesive finish, so it can be easily attached to walls or panels. It is punched, so it is breathable and moisture-permeable, making it suitable for many uses.

Environmental Considerations

EMCscreen is lightweight, so less heat energy is required for manufacturing and recycling compared to conventional metal sheets. Heavy materials consume a lot of energy during transportation, which leads to increased CO2 emissions, but EMCscreen is also superior in this respect. In addition, its long life and less frequent replacement reduce resource consumption.
