『EMC Simple Room』(Patent No. 7088525)No construction work related to lighting, air conditioning, or the structure is required. The patented magnetic door allows for one-touch access and has excellent sealing performance. Its shielding performance is higher than that of our "EMCtent".

The economy type EMC simple room uses MG sheets (conductive cloth/copper-nickel coating) for some of the shielding material (sides, back, and bottom), and has about 30% lower breathability and heat dissipation compared to MGnet, but the shielding performance is the same.

Measures to combat the Radio Law: "Provisions for Weak Radio Stations"

If the electric field strength (radio wave strength) at a distance of 3 meters from the wireless equipment is lower than the specified level (500uV/m for frequencies less than 322MHz and 150GHz or higher, 35uV/m for frequencies between 322MHz and 10GHz, and 35uV/m to 500uV/m for frequencies between 10GHz and 150GHz), then a wireless station license is not required.

If the electric field strength emitted from a device is 10V/m at a distance of 1cm, the electric field strength at a distance of 3m is inversely proportional to the distance and can be calculated as follows:

E3m = E1cm /(3m/0.01m)
E1cm = 10V/m
The distance ratio is 3m/0.01m = 300
E3m = 10V/m / 300 = 0.033 V/m

If the electric field strength is 10 V/m at 1 cm, the electric field strength at a position 3 m away will be 0.033 V/m. To attenuate the electric field strength of 0.033 V/m to 500 μV/m, a shielding performance of 36.4 decibels (dB) or more is required, and to attenuate it to 35 uV/m, a shielding performance of 59.5 decibels (dB) or more is required. EMC simple rooms that meet these requirements have a triple or six-layer shielding mesh (MGnet).

If the shielding performance of the EMC simple room is triple (45dB) and does not meet the above regulations, it is possible to meet the regulations by installing an EMCbox inside.(Example: If the EMCtent performance is 45dB, and the EMCbox performance is 45dB, a total shielding performance of 90dB can be obtained.)

Effective against electromagnetic pulse (EMP) bombs and solar flares

Electromagnetic pulses generated by electromagnetic pulse (EMP) bombs and high-power microwave weapons generate an electric field strength of approximately 50 kV/m (DC several 10 MHz). The electric field strength that reaches the ground depends on the distance from the EMP source, and the higher the explosion height, the wider the area that can be affected. The electric field strength that reaches the ground decreases with distance as follows:

●In short distances (within a few kilometers), it is several kV/m or more.
●For medium distances (several tens of kilometers), it ranges from several hundred V/m to several kV/m.
●Over long distances (several hundred kilometers or more), electromagnetic waves of tens to hundreds of V/m can reach.

Electromagnetic waves induce high-voltage currents in electronic devices, including information and communication devices, and in power and communication lines. It is predicted that even momentary exposure to an electric field strength of 10 kV/m or more will destroy electronic devices and systems.
IEC 61000-4-3 electromagnetic compatibility testing for commercial electronic equipment requires that they can withstand electric field strengths of approximately 10 V/m. In reality, however, the operation of many electronic devices can be affected by electric field strengths of several hundred V/m to 1 kV/m, generating noise and increasing the likelihood of data errors and communication errors.

To protect various electronic devices such as data center servers, daily life infrastructure (electricity, gas, water, etc.), and communications infrastructure, a shielding performance of 60dB or more is required to attenuate the maximum 10kV/m (DC several 10MHz) generated by a close-range explosion to below 10V/m.
Typically, a 10 cm thick reinforced concrete building has a shielding performance of 20 to 30 dB,EMC simple room with 3 layers (shielding performance 45dB) installedThis results in a total shielding performance of 65 to 80 dB, which can reduce the electric field strength to approximately 1/1800 to 1/10,000, making it possible to attenuate a 10 kV/m electric field strength to 5.6 V/m or less.
Furthermore, with this level of shielding performance, it is also effective against data leaks caused by Tempest attacks and the like.

The Cabinet Office has requested that infrastructure facilities such as power and communication companies, defense and disaster prevention agencies, and data centers consider measures to protect important electronic equipment and facilities from EMP destruction. In the event of an increased risk of pulse bombs or solar flares, storing important electronic equipment and facilities in an EMC simplified room will help to prevent destruction.

Metal allergy is a condition in which the skin reacts to metals and chloride ions contained in sweat, causing a rash. Silver is a safe metal that is extremely unlikely to cause allergic reactions. Most common electromagnetic shielding materials use inexpensive metal plating such as nickel. Nickel dissolves more easily than other metals when it comes into direct contact with the skin, and if you sweat, it dissolves even more easily due to the action of chloride ions in sweat, so care must be taken.

Our "MGnet" products are designed with safety and intended use in mind, and are coated with silver to minimize the risk of metal allergies. Also, unlike general products that have electromagnetic shielding material coated on the fabric, "MGnet" products are silver coated at the fiber level, making them resistant to abrasion and peeling of the coating material and durable.

Regarding compliance with Fire Prevention Method

We received an inquiry asking if the "EMC Simple Room" violates the Fire Prevention Method, and so we checked with the fire departments in charge of the local governments of Izumi City, Osaka Prefecture, where our head office is located, as well as Osaka City, Osaka Prefecture, Shinagawa Ward, Tokyo, Yokohama City, Kanagawa Prefecture, and Sendai City, Miyagi Prefecture.

  • 1)The mesh material (MGnet) used in the EMC simple room is a special coarse mesh made of silver-coated nylon with mesh sizes of 1 mm or more.(Opening rate 80% or more※)Due to its structure, it has high breathability and permeability, allowing water from the sprinklers on the ceiling to reach the inside of the tent sufficiently.
  • 2)Since it is not fixed to the floor, wall, or ceiling of the installation location, it can be moved in the event of a fire, making it easy to secure an evacuation route.
  • 3)The inside of the shielded room can be seen from the outside, so the situation inside the shielded room can be checked even in the event of a fire.

After explaining the above points, the fire department in charge mentioned above said that the ceiling opening rate wasOver 80%※Therefore, we were able to confirm that it does not violate the Fire Department Method. However, depending on the fire department in charge, there is a possibility that a different opinion will be issued, so if you contact us, we will check with the local fire department.

How to use Method

Make sure the spray nozzle is facing in a well-ventilated area, hold the can 20-30cm away, shake the can 10 times, and spray thinly and evenly over the entire surface. You can use the same method for up to 4 pieces, but it is more efficient to spray multiple times. After spraying, let it dry indoors for about 1-2 hours.

Spray time: 1 can can spray for 270-300 seconds

The spray time varies depending on the area as follows:

How to use Method

Make sure the area is well ventilated, check the direction of the nozzle, spray thinly and evenly over the entire area from 20-30cm away. The same method can be used for up to 4-piece sprays, but it is more efficient to spray multiple times. After spraying, leave the sprayer to dry indoors for about 1-2 hours.
