EMSsheet Handling and installation method
The EMSsheet has an adhesive backing, so you can attach it directly to building materials such as walls, ceilings, and floors, fences such as partitions and vinyl curtains, panels such as acrylic sheets, device housings and parts, and cables inside devices.
Please use EMSsheetWH if high frequency electromagnetic interference is expected.EMSsheetWH reflects and attenuates high-frequency electromagnetic waves to around 45 dB (around 99.5%), and because the effects of reflection and resonance are small, a stable EMC effect can be obtained.
※Although EMSsheetNH has a shielding performance (reflection attenuation) of 100dB or more (99.999% or more), the effects of reflection and resonance may become significant, causing unexpected electromagnetic interference.
EMSsheet installation guidelines
Please take note of the following points when using EMSsheet.
- ・Surface preparation:It is attached using adhesive on the back, so make sure the surface you are attaching it to is flat.
- ・cleaning:Remove as much dirt as possible from the surface to which you will be attaching the sticker.
- ・Cutting:The EMS sheet comes in a roll with a width of 460 mm, so please cut it to the required size.
- ・Bend:It is possible to fold the EMS sheet by adding perforations.
- ・shape:EMSsheet is a material that does not absorb magnetic fields but diverts them. If the box is not completely airtight, use a lid like that of a lunch box to divert the magnetic field into a space that will not be affected.
- ・Splicing:When joining EMSsheets, do not overlap the sheets. If the only purpose is to shield low frequencies, there is no problem just joining them together. If you also want to shield high frequencies, seal the joints with conductive aluminum tape 30 to 50 mm wide.
- ・Overlay:When EMSsheetNH is stacked, the static magnetic field and low frequency magnetic field shielding performance improves. Please stack them according to your purpose.
- ・ground:There is no problem if it is not connected to GND. If it is connected to GND, if the EMSsheet receives strong electromagnetic noise, the noise may be transferred to other devices connected to the same GND. If you absolutely need a GND, we recommend that you use a separate GND.
- ・Electromagnetic environment survey:We will actually conduct an on-site electromagnetic environment survey, grasp the noise environment, and propose appropriate EMSsheet placement.※The investigation cost will be quoted separately.
In-facility EMC electromagnetic environment survey
Installation method 1: On the wall of a room where low-frequency electromagnetic interference is expected
In order to prevent electromagnetic interference caused by low-frequency magnetic fields generated by transformers, distribution boards, elevator motors, etc. installed inside and outside rooms within the facility, EMS sheets are placed on walls where electromagnetic interference is expected to occur to prevent electromagnetic interference.
- ・Pasting:Please adhere to the object according to the guidelines above.
- ・Mounting location:Place it on the wall where electromagnetic interference is expected. Except for special cases, there is no need to place it on the ceiling or floor.
- ・Installation Method:In the case of retrofitting, the EMS sheet is attached to the wall and wallpaper, etc. is attached on top of it as necessary. In the case of new construction, it can also be attached to the plaster board on the inside of the wall.
Installation method 2: Shielding low-frequency magnetic fields generated from inside various equipment such as printers and cables
Inside various devices, barriers and component covers made from EMSsheet are installed on circuit boards and sensors that are subject to electromagnetic interference from low-frequency magnetic fields generated by cables, motors, inverters, etc. to prevent electromagnetic interference.
- ・Pasting:Please adhere to the object according to the guidelines above.
- ・Construction of shielded enclosure for circuit boards:Create a case made of acrylic or other material to cover the circuit board where electromagnetic interference is anticipated, and attach an EMS sheet to the case.
- ・Cable installation:It is attached by wrapping external cables to shield them from low-frequency magnetic field noise from outside.
- ・Pasting:Please adhere to the object according to the guidelines above.
- ・Mounting location:It is most effective to locate the device either close to the affected equipment or close to the source.
- ・range:The larger the area of the fence, the less it will wrap around, making it more effective.
Installation method 3: Fence (partition)
In order to prevent electromagnetic interference caused by low-frequency magnetic fields between devices within the facility, partitions with EMS sheets affixed to them are placed between the devices to prevent electromagnetic interference.
