Prep Test

When EMS/EMI standard measurements are performed in an anechoic chamber, etc., it is possible to measure noise levels that exceed the standards in relative values. For example, if a 5dB reduction is required to pass the standard test, it is possible to achieve a 5dB reduction in an electromagnetically shielded room and pass the EMS/EMI standard test.

Points to note about the Prep Test

  • 1) Please carry out EMS/EMI standard measurements first and identify in advance the noise frequency and noise level that exceed the standards.※It is not possible to perform EMS/EMIPrep Test in this shielded room from the beginning.
  • 2) Since it may be difficult to measure this shielded room in the 30MHz to 100MHz band due to resonance noise, please use it with noise countermeasures above 100MHz.
  • 3) Due to the influence of reflected waves in the shielded room, the noise level will change if the position of the antenna or the equipment being measured is changed. Take measures against noise on the equipment, and mark the equipment so that it can be returned to its original position when measuring again.

※The EMI Shielded Vehicle comes with a measurement pole antenna (30MHz to 1GHz), N-type coaxial cable, and 3Ω and 10Ω attenuators that can be connected to a spectrum analyzer for prep testing.

※The prep test in the shielded room requires adjustments depending on the measurement conditions and equipment, so please be aware of this before proceeding.

Immunity (EMC) Test Standards Testing Requirements

  • ① Electrostatic Discharge Test Shielded room of 3m square or more
  • ② Radiated interference measurement (above 1GHz) Radio-controlled anechoic chamber

Emission (EMI) testing Standards Testing Requirements

  • ① Radiated interference measurement (below 1GHz) Semi-anechoic chamber or better
  • ② Radiated interference measurement (above 1GHz) Semi-anechoic chamber or better
  • ③ Radiated interference measurement (simplified measurement for countermeasures) Radio-controlled anechoic chamber
  • ④ Interference power measurement (noise power measurement) Use of 10m darkroom mandatory
  • ⑤ Lighting fixture interference signal strength test (9kHz~30MHz) Room size

It's very easy to use.
The EMI Shielded Vehicle can be used at multiple locations, eliminating the need for additional space in the office and allowing it to be moved to various locations for inspection.
