Pure silver mesh material "MG Net" silver ion elution test report
We conducted a test on May 25, 2020, as detailed below, at our company to see how the silver ion concentration would change when 5g of pure silver mesh "MGnet" was added to 1 liter of ultrapure water and sodium hypochlorite solution (a solution simulating tap water). Please refer to the attached sheet for details of the test content.
1. Test item:
The sample "MGnet" is made by twisting nylon fibers with electroless plating of silver onto the surface into threads and forming a coarse honeycomb net. Nylon 70%, pure silver 30% (weight ratio).
2. Testing Facility:
Osaka Industrial Technology Research Institute (Headquarters/Izumi Center)
3. Exam Content:
Pure silver mesh "MGnet" silver ion elution test 2
4. Test Overview:
"MGnet" was added to "ultrapure water" and "water to which sodium hypochlorite at the upper limit of the water quality standard for tap water had been added," and the silver concentration (amount of silver ions) was tested after 1 minute, 5 minutes, and 10 minutes.
5. Test sample:
MGnet5g(Silver surface area approx. 3125c㎡)
6.Test Solution:
1 liter of ultrapure water, 1 liter of sodium hypochlorite solution (simulating tap water)
7. Test results: see table below

8. Test Report:
It was confirmed that the silver ion concentration exceeded 100 ppb (0.1 ppm) in both the ultrapure water and the sodium hypochlorite solution one minute after MGnet was added.
This value can be converted to the equivalent of putting one Ag+ mask disinfectant sheet (0.2g) into 40ml of water, and it is expected that the sheet will react with the moisture in exhaled breath, causing the silver ion concentration in the moisture in the mask to increase in a short period of time.
Since the amount of silver ions generated is proportional to the surface area of silver, by adding 50 times the amount of MGnet compared to Silver Ion Elution Test 1 (MGnet 0.1 g), a large amount of silver ions was generated in a short period of time.
As a result of the above, our MGnet has about twice the surface area of silver compared to the area of the material, so when used inside a mask, it reacts efficiently with the moisture in the breath in a short time to generate silver ion droplets, which increases the silver ion concentration inside the mask and exerts the effects of sterilization, antibacterial, and deodorization inside the mask. Furthermore, the silver ion droplets inside the mask are expelled from the gaps in the mask, which helps to sterilize viruses and bacteria around the eyes and suppresses allergens such as pollen.
In addition, when silver ion droplets are inhaled, it is expected that they will disinfect viruses and bacteria in the nasal and oral cavities, suppress allergens, and remove substances that cause bad breath (hydrogen sulfide, ammonia, etc.).
